EBAY scored an important court victory yesterday after American jeweller Tiffany lost its case that the online auction house sold fake goods.
A federal judge said eBay should not be responsible for policing companies' trademarks online.

Tiffany had sued eBay over the sale of counterfeit jewellery on eBay's sites.

EBay was last month ordered by a French court to pay more than £31 million to LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, which complained it was hurt by the online sale of fake bags, perfume and clothes. EBay is appealing.
