TWO teenagers have been told to expect jail after they admitted killing a promising graduate in a row over litter.
Evren Anil, 23, died from serious head injuries after being threatened with a knife and punched to the ground.

The argument started after one of the youths threw a half-eaten chocolate bar through his car window in Crystal Palace, south London, in August last year.

A 16-year-old from Thornton Heath, south London, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and knife possession on Monday as his trial was due to begin at the Old Bailey.

His plea could only be reported after his 17-year-old co-defendant, from Tottenham, north London, yesterday admitted the charges.

Judge Ann Goddard told the pair, who cannot be named because of their ages: "It seems to me custody is the appropriate outcome."

Just as well that Kenny MacAskill will have no control over their possible sentences. After all, it is his stated aim not to gaol anyone under the age of 18 years.

"custody is the appropriate outcome"
The law is in the hands of the PC brigade and they dont want to be horrible to any criminal.
If this was not murder then what is, they were out looking for trouble armed with a knife. Wish it was the good old days where we could wait until they came of age then hang them. Scum.

why manslaugher & not murder, i stabbed him but i didnt mean to kill him, bull biscuits. If you stab someone then it's intentional & therefore murder. But in order to get an easy conviction without trial they charge them with the lesser offense.

Tough on crime & the causes of crime, absolute bull
